The Shanxi Loongs pulled off an amazing victory against the Guangsha Lions, winning 100-98 in an exciting game of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA)! π This game was held in Hangzhou, in east China’s Zhejiang Province.
The Guangsha Lions had been on a roll with a 12-game winning streak and had not lost at home for 19 games. But the Shanxi Loongs were ready to make their mark!
Yuan Shuai started strong for Shanxi by making a three-point shot, which was his 1,140th career three-pointerβwow! That’s the seventh-most in CBA history! πβ¨
Even though Guangsha took an early 24-14 lead, thanks to Barry Brown Jr. scoring four points in a row, Shanxi didn’t give up. Zhang Ning stepped up, hitting a three-pointer and drawing a foul, helping Shanxi close the gap to just 34-31 by the end of the first quarter.
The game was super close! By halftime, Guangsha was barely ahead, leading 55-53.
In the third quarter, Shanxi took advantage when Guangsha couldn’t score for over three minutes. They went on an 11-0 run, turning the game around! Ibrahima Faye kept pushing through the defense, and Shanxi led 84-77 by the end of the third quarter.
But Guangsha wasn’t done yet! They fought back hard in the fourth quarter, even taking the lead for a moment. With less than two minutes left, the game was tied at 98-98. π±
In the final seconds, Shanxi’s defense was amazing, and with a buzzer-beating layup by Zhang Ning, they secured the win! π₯³ What an incredible game!
