Han Mei Skates to Bronze in Women’s 1000m at Speed Skating World Cup! 🥉⛸️

Chinese skater Han Mei dazzled everyone at the Speed Skating World Cup in Heerenveen, the Netherlands, by winning a bronze medal in the women’s 1,000-meter race! 🥉

Skating alongside the home crowd favorite, Jutta Leerdam from the Netherlands, Han Mei gave it her all on the ice. Leerdam took the gold with a time of 1:14.27. Han Mei was just 0.53 seconds behind, finishing in third place with an impressive performance. The silver medal went to Miho Takagi from Japan, who finished in 1:14.49.

But that’s not all! Just the day before, Han Mei also won a bronze medal in the women’s 1,500-meter race. 🥉 She’s now ranked third overall in both the 1,000m and 1,500m events. Way to go, Han Mei!

In the men’s 1,000-meter race, Han Mei’s teammate Ning Zhongyan came very close to the podium, finishing fourth with a time of 1:08.07. He was only 0.09 seconds behind Tim Prins from the Netherlands, who took the bronze. The gold medal was won by another Dutch skater, Jenning de Boo, with a time of 1:07.45. Cooper McLeod from the United States claimed the silver, finishing in 1:07.87.
