Meet Laurent Ban: The French Actor Speaking Chinese! π«π·π¨π³
Guess what? There’s a French actor named Laurent Ban in the musical! He plays a mysterious character named Ge Lao. Even though he’s from France, he performs his entire role in Chinese! Isn’t that amazing?
Laurent says that acting in Chinese was a big challenge, but he loves trying new things. He even sings in a special Chinese opera style called Qinqiang Opera, which started in Shaanxi Province, where Chang’an is located.

The director, Hu Xiaoqing, wanted to show how Chang’an was a place where people from all over the world met. So, they mixed different musical and dance styles together. There’s even a song called “Le Chef” that has some French words in it!
