Hey tennis fans! 🎾 Guess what? Two amazing Chinese tennis players and their partners have made it to the women’s doubles semifinals at the Dubai Tennis Championships! Let’s find out how they did it!
Zhang Shuai from China teamed up with Kristina Mladenovic from France, and they played an awesome match against Fanny Stollar from Hungary and Alexandra Panova from Russia. Last week, Zhang and Mladenovic lost to Stollar and Panova, so this was their chance to get revenge! 😮
They started strong, winning the first set 6-2. Even though their opponents tried hard, Zhang and Mladenovic were too good. In the second set, they won 6-4 and moved on to the semifinals! 🎉 Next, they’ll play against Katerina Siniakova from the Czech Republic and Taylor Townsend from the USA. It’s going to be exciting!
Another Chinese duo, Xu Yifan and Yang Zhaoxuan, also made it to the semifinals! They had a tough match against Yulia Putintseva from Kazakhstan and Linda Noskova from the Czech Republic. The match was so close, it needed a super tiebreaker to decide the winner! 😲
Xu and Yang won the first set 6-4, but their opponents came back to win the second set 6-3. In the final set, Xu and Yang played their hearts out and won 10-8! Now, they will face Jeļena Ostapenko from Latvia and Hsieh Su-wei from Chinese Taipei. Let’s cheer them on! 🙌
