Beijing Ducks Soar in Overtime Win Over Shanxi Loongs! 🏀
Hey basketball fans! 🏀 The Beijing Ducks had an exciting game and flew to victory against the Shanxi Loongs! They won 104-94 in overtime at the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) Club Cup in Xi’an, northwest China’s Shaanxi Province, on Friday night.
Shanxi Loongs Take the Lead 🐉
The game started with the Shanxi Loongs roaring ahead. They scored 11 points while the Ducks scored just 4. Hamidou Diallo from the Loongs was amazing! He scored three-pointers (that’s when you score from far away and get 3 points!), drove to the basket, and got fouled (which gives you free throws!). The Loongs were leading 26-18 after the first quarter.
Beijing Ducks Don’t Give Up! 🦆
In the second quarter, the Loongs increased their lead to 38-25. But the Ducks weren’t ready to quit! They played stronger defense, which means they stopped the Loongs from scoring easily. Eugene German and Fang Shuo from the Ducks started making awesome three-point shots! By halftime, the Ducks were only one point behind, 51-50. So close!
Things Get Even More Exciting! 😲
The third quarter was a real nail-biter (that means it was very exciting!). Both teams kept scoring, and it was super close. At the end of the quarter, Fang Shuo blocked a shot from Yuan Shuai and quickly scored a layup (a close-up shot near the basket) just before the buzzer! This put the Ducks ahead 72-71.
Going Into Overtime! 🕒
In the fourth quarter, both teams were on fire! They kept making three-pointers. Players like Fang Shuo, Yuan Shuai, Eugene German, and Brandon Goodwin were scoring from all over the court! With just seconds left, the score was tied at 89-89. Diallo blocked a shot from German, which meant the game went into overtime!
The Ducks Fly to Victory! 🎉
During overtime, the Ducks took off! They kept making those three-point shots, while the Loongs had a hard time scoring. The Ducks scored 15 points to the Loongs’ 5 in overtime, winning the game 104-94! What an incredible finish!
