What is Yue Opera?
Yue Opera, also known as Shaoxing Opera, is one of China’s most beloved forms of traditional theater. It started over 100 years ago in Shaoxing City in east China’s Zhejiang Province. Originally, only men performed it, but everything changed in the 1920s when women took center stage! Now, it’s famous for its all-female casts. π©βπ€
