South Korea Speeds to First Gold at Asian Winter Games! ⛸️🥇

South Korea just won the very first gold medal at the 9th Asian Winter Games in Harbin, northeast China’s Heilongjiang Province! 🎉🥇

In the exciting 2,000-meter mixed relay short-track speed skating final on Saturday morning, the South Korean team zoomed past the finish line in just 2 minutes and 41.534 seconds! ⏱️ That’s super fast!

The awesome team members were Kim Gil-li, Choi Min-jeong, Park Ji-won, and Kim Tae-sung. In the final two laps, Kim Tae-sung sped ahead, securing the gold for South Korea. Go team! 🥳

Kazakhstan skated into second place with a time of 2:42.258, grabbing the silver medal. 🥈 Japan took home the bronze, finishing the race in 2:44.058. 🥉

China, the hosts and favorites to win, faced an unexpected turn. Skater Lin Xiaojun had a crash in the second-to-last lap, which meant they didn’t make it to the podium this time. They finished in fourth place. 😢
