Meet China’s Flagbearers for the Asian Winter Games!

Hey everyone! 😊 Are you excited about the Asian Winter Games? πŸ‚πŸŽΏ It’s like the Olympics but for countries in Asia! This year, the opening ceremony is happening in Harbin, a super cool city in the northeast of China’s Heilongjiang Province. And guess what? China has just announced their flagbearers! πŸŽ‰

Ning Zhongyan is a super-fast speed skater! ⛸️ He has made history several times. In December 2019, he became the first Chinese speed skater to win the men’s 1,500-meter gold medal at the International Skating Union (ISU) Speed Skating World Cup. He even broke the track record in Astana, Kazakhstan! πŸ… Then, two years later, he won the men’s 1,000-meter event at the ISU World Cup in Calgary, Canada, becoming the first Chinese man to win that race in any international competition! Isn’t that amazing? πŸ˜ƒ

Liu Mengting is an awesome freestyle skier! ⛷️ She first got on the podium at the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS) Freestyle Ski World Cup in March 2024, winning a silver medal in the women’s big air event in Tignes, France. πŸ₯ˆ Then, in January, she took home the gold at the World Cup in Klagenfurt, Austria! πŸ₯‡ How cool is that?
