Meet Bao Li and Qing Bao: Giant Pandas Debut at Smithsonian National Zoo!
πΌ Exciting news for panda fans! After more than three months of settling into their new home, giant pandas Bao Li and Qing Bao are finally ready to meet you at the Smithsonian National Zoo in Washington DC.
Starting this week, the Zoo is hosting a two-week-long celebration to welcome these adorable newcomers. π Visitors can watch Bao Li and Qing Bao munch on bamboo, play in their habitat, and maybe even catch them taking a cozy nap!
Who Are Bao Li and Qing Bao?
Bao Li and Qing Bao are giant pandas, a species known for their black-and-white fur and love of bamboo. Did you know that giant pandas can eat up to 40 pounds of bamboo a day? That’s like eating hundreds of bamboo sticks!
These pandas have traveled all the way from China to become ambassadors for wildlife conservation. Their arrival helps scientists learn more about giant pandas and how to protect them in the wild.
