Hey basketball fans! The Guangsha Lions are on fire! 🔥 They just won their ninth game in a row, beating the Sichuan Blue Whales 115-99 at their home court in Hangzhou, east China’s Zhejiang Province, on Saturday.
Star Player Alert! 🌟 Sun Minghui, a guard for the Guangsha Lions, was amazing in the game. He scored 16 points and made 18 assists! An assist is when a player passes the ball to a teammate who then scores. Because of his great passes, Sun moved up to sixth place on the Chinese Basketball Association’s (CBA) all-time assists list. That’s a big deal! 🎉
The Lions started strong, leading 26-16 after the first quarter. The Blue Whales tried to catch up with the help of their player Edmond Sumner, who scored lots of points in the second quarter. But Guangsha’s Barry Brown scored 11 points to keep the Lions ahead. 🦁💪
In the third quarter, Marin Maric and Wang Xinkai helped the Blue Whales score more points. But their defense wasn’t enough to stop the Lions. The Guangsha Lions kept their lead and even sent in some of their younger players in the fourth quarter to get some playtime. How cool is that? 👏
The Lions are now the only team in the CBA that hasn’t lost a game at home this season. They are an amazing 17-0 in Hangzhou! 🏠🏀
In other games, the Guangdong Southern Tigers won their eighth game in a row by beating the Fujian Sturgeons 116-92. Also, the Xinjiang Flying Tigers defeated the Guangzhou Loong Lions 116-97. What an exciting day in the CBA! 🎉
