Hey everyone! Have you heard about the big wildfires in Los Angeles? 🚒🔥 Firefighters are working super hard to stop the fires before strong winds come back.
For the past six days, brave firefighters have been battling two huge wildfires in Los Angeles. They got a little break when the winds calmed down, but now, stronger winds are expected to return. These winds can make the fires spread faster! 🌬️🔥
So far, the fires have destroyed thousands of homes, and sadly, 24 people have lost their lives. Over 100,000 people had to leave their homes to stay safe. 🏘️➡️🏃♀️🏃♂️
The fires have turned entire neighborhoods into ashes. Firefighters are using helicopters to drop water from the ocean onto the fires! 🌊🚁 Isn’t that incredible?
One of the fires, called the Palisades Fire, has burned an area as big as 13,440 soccer fields! That’s huge! ⚽️🏞️
The firefighters are also worried because the strong winds, known as Santa Ana winds, are coming back. These winds can reach up to 112 kilometers per hour. That’s faster than cars on the highway! 🚗💨
Because of the fires and smoke, many people have to stay away from their homes. Schools were closed, but some are reopening now. Everyone is hoping the fires will be under control soon. 🤞
People from other states and even Canada and Mexico have come to help fight the fires. It’s amazing how everyone is coming together! 🤝
