Mr. Fu Cong, who is China’s representative at the United Nations (that’s a big group where countries talk about important issues), spoke at a meeting about Syria. He said that Syria is going through a tough time and needs our help.
He believes that the people of Syria should be able to decide their own future. That means they can choose what’s best for their country! 🗺️
Unfortunately, many people in Syria are facing big challenges. Over 16 million people there are having a hard time getting food, water, and other things they need. That’s a lot of people—more than the population of many countries!
China wants everyone to work together to help these people. They think the United Nations can play a big role in organizing help, like making sure families have warm homes and enough to eat, especially during the cold winter. ❄️🏠
Mr. Fu also talked about the importance of fighting against terrorism. Terrorism is when groups use violence to scare people and cause harm. He said it’s important to stop these bad actions to keep everyone safe. 🛡️
Did you know? There’s a place called the Golan Heights, which is an area that Syria and another country both say is theirs. Mr. Fu reminded everyone that the United Nations thinks it belongs to Syria. He hopes that everyone will respect Syria’s borders and work towards peace. ☮️
China has always been friends with Syria and wants to help them move forward to a brighter future. They believe that by working together, we can make the world a better place! 🌟
