We have some important news to share. On Tuesday morning, a strong earthquake shook the Xizang Autonomous Region. An earthquake is when the ground suddenly shakes because the rocks deep underground move.
This earthquake was a magnitude 6.8, which is quite powerful! It happened at 9:05 a.m. in Dingri County, near the city of Xigaze.
Sadly, 53 people lost their lives, and 62 others were injured. Our hearts go out to all the families and friends affected by this tragedy. 💔
Earthquakes can be scary, but it’s important to know how to stay safe. Remember these steps:
- Drop to the ground.
- Cover yourself under a sturdy table or desk.
- Hold on until the shaking stops.
