Chinese Tech Companies Say U.S. Listing Is a Mistake
Have you ever been mistaken for someone else? 😮 That’s how two big Chinese companies feel right now! Tencent and CATL are saying, “It’s a mistake!” after the United States put them on a special list.
The U.S. Department of Defense added Tencent and CATL to a list of companies they believe are linked to the Chinese military. But Tencent, a company that makes games and apps like WeChat, said, “We are not a military company or supplier. This is clearly a misunderstanding.”
CATL, a company that makes batteries for electric cars, also said, “We have no involvement in any military-related activities.” 🚗🔋
The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs is not happy about this. They said that the U.S. is unfairly targeting Chinese companies, and it hurts the cooperation between the two countries.
Both Tencent and CATL hope to talk to the U.S. to sort things out. They believe this issue won’t affect their business, but they still want to clear up any confusion.
It’s like being put on a “do not enter” list by mistake! Let’s hope they can fix it soon. 🤞
