Late on Sunday, there were some big protests outside a hotel called the Bell Hotel in a place called Epping, which is in the northeastern part of London.
Some people gathered there because they were upset. They were shouting and holding banners, and unfortunately, some of them started throwing bottles and smoke bombs at the police officers who were there.
The police had to step in to keep everyone safe. They arrested five people for causing trouble. Sadly, one police officer was hurt, and a police vehicle was damaged.
The protesters were upset because of something that happened earlier. A 38-year-old man staying at the hotel was charged with trying to kiss a 14-year-old girl without her permission. He said he didn’t do it, but the court is looking into it.
Because of this, some people became angry and started protesting. But it’s important to remember that everyone should stay peaceful and let the police and courts do their job.
Last year, there were also some protests when three girls were harmed in another town, but the person responsible turned out to be someone from the UK.
