A Big Fire in Iraq: What Happened?
Hey everyone, we have some sad news to share. 😢 A serious fire broke out in a big store, called a hypermarket, in a city called Kut in eastern Iraq.
What is a Hypermarket?
A hypermarket is like a super big store where you can buy a lot of different things, like clothes, food, and toys—all in one place! 🛍️
The Fire
Late Wednesday night, the fire started and quickly spread throughout the store. Sadly, 61 people lost their lives. Many of them were trapped in bathrooms, and 14 people are still being identified because of the damage.
What Did the Officials Say?
Iraq’s Interior Ministry said it was a tragic event. They mentioned that most of the people died because they couldn’t breathe in the smoke when they were stuck in the bathrooms.
