She played in the women’s singles wheelchair final and defeated Yui Kamiji from Japan with a score of 6-3, 6-3. This is super exciting because Wang is the first wheelchair player from the Chinese mainland to win a singles trophy at Wimbledon!
Before this match, Wang had played against Kamiji nine times, and Kamiji won eight of those matches. Kamiji is a fantastic player with 10 major titles! But this time, Wang played amazingly and won the match. 🌟
The first set was really tough. It took Wang five set points to win it, and one of the games went to deuce nine times! That’s a lot of back-and-forth! But in the second set, Wang stayed focused and won on her first match point. 💪
