Chinese Premier Li Qiang met with Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed on Sunday. They talked about working together to improve the Addis Ababa-Djibouti Railway. This railway is super important because it helps people and goods travel between Ethiopia and Djibouti quickly and safely! 🚂
China and Ethiopia have been good friends for 55 years! That’s a long time, right? 🥳 They’ve always supported each other, no matter what was happening around the world.
Premier Li said that China wants to help Ethiopia in many ways. They plan to work together on things like building roads and bridges (that’s called infrastructure 🏗️), making electric cars 🚙, helping the environment 🌱, online shopping (e-commerce 🛍️), and even artificial intelligence (that’s like teaching computers to think! 🤖)
They also want to have more exchanges in tourism (traveling to see new places 🏞️), youth activities, education (learning new things 📚), and more fun stuff!
Both China and Ethiopia are important countries in what’s called the “Global South.” That means they are countries that are still developing and growing. They want to work together in big organizations like the United Nations 🌐 and BRICS to make the world a better place for everyone.
Premier Li is in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, to attend the 17th BRICS Summit. BRICS is a group of countries (Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa) that work together on global issues.
