Guess what? 😃 U.S. kids who love playing pickleball just got a special message from Chinese President Xi Jinping! 🎉
A group of students and teachers from Montgomery County, Maryland, went all the way to China to play pickleball and make new friends. Pickleball is a super fun sport that’s like a mix of tennis, badminton, and ping-pong!
They were part of a cool program where 50,000 young Americans are invited to visit China over five years to learn and have fun together. During their trip in April, they played pickleball with Chinese kids and made lasting friendships. They even sent a letter to President Xi to say thank you for the awesome experience!
President Xi was really happy to hear from them. He said that pickleball has become a new way for kids from China and the United States to connect. He told them that the future of China-U.S. relations depends on young people like them. How cool is that? 😎
He hopes they will become ambassadors of friendship between the two countries. That means they can help bring people together and make the world a better place! 🌍
The students also hope to invite Chinese kids to visit the United States, so they can continue the fun and friendship. Maybe you’ll get a chance to meet new friends from China someday too! 🤗
