Hey friends! 😊 There’s some news from the Middle East that’s giving people hope for peace.
For a long time, there has been a conflict between Israel and Hamas in the Gaza Strip. But now, Hamas says they have talked with the United States about stopping the fighting!
Hamas announced that they’ve reached an agreement on a plan to have a ceasefire (which means to stop fighting). They said they’re willing to release 10 Israeli hostages and return some people’s bodies. In exchange, they hope that some Palestinian prisoners will be freed.
However, the U.S. Special Envoy to the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, said that Hamas hasn’t accepted the deal yet. This means both sides are still talking.
Israel hasn’t officially said what they think about this plan. Some reports say that Israel doesn’t agree to the proposal.
Experts say that Israel wants certain things before they stop the war. They want Hamas to give up control in Gaza, disarm (which means give up weapons), and for Hamas leaders to leave the area.
Meanwhile, people in Gaza are facing hard times. There have been blockades, which makes it hard for food and supplies to get in. Some aid has arrived, but it’s not enough.
The United Nations (that’s a group of countries working together) says that more needs to be done to help the people in Gaza. They want all the borders to be opened so that help can get in.
Let’s hope that all sides can come together to bring peace and help to the people who need it most. 🤞❤️
