Guess what, tennis fans? ๐พ Aryna Sabalenka and Iga Swiatek have made it to the semifinals of the Madrid Open!
First up, Aryna Sabalenka from Belarus had a tough match against Marta Kostyuk from Ukraine. It was a close game with both sets going to tiebreakers! ๐ฎ Can you imagine the excitement?
At one point, it even started to rain, and they had to stop the match to close the stadium roof. ๐ง๏ธ But Sabalenka stayed strong and won the match 7-6(4), 7-6(7). She said it was more about handling emotions than tennis skills. That’s some serious determination! ๐ช
Next, she’ll be playing against another Ukrainian player, Elina Svitolina. Svitolina is on fire! ๐ฅ She won her match against Moyuka Uchijima from Japan in just 52 minutes with a score of 6-2, 6-1. She’s won 11 matches in a row and hasn’t lost a set on clay this season!
On the other side, Iga Swiatek from Poland had a comeback victory against Madison Keys from the USA. After losing the first set 0-6, Swiatek fought back to win the next two sets 6-3, 6-2. Talk about a turnaround! ๐ฒ
Swiatek will face Coco Gauff, also from the USA, in the semifinals. Gauff won her match against 18-year-old Mirra Andreeva 7-5, 6-1. It’s going to be an exciting showdown! ๐คฉ
