Hey friends, we have some sad news to share 😔. Last night, something tragic happened at a festival in Vancouver, Canada.
During a fun Filipino cultural celebration called the Lapu Lapu Festival, a driver drove a car into a crowd of people. Sadly, at least nine people lost their lives, and others were hurt.
The police have caught the driver, a 30-year-old man who they say acted alone. They believe this was not an act of terrorism.
Many people, including the Canadian Prime Minister and the city’s mayor, shared their sadness about what happened.
The festival was a time when many families and friends were enjoying music, dancing, and tasty food from food trucks. One of Canada’s leaders, Jagmeet Singh, was at the event but left just before the incident. He was very shocked and sad about what happened.
