On Saturday, a huge explosion happened at a port in southern Iran. At least five people were killed, and over 700 others were injured.
The explosion took place in the province of Hormozgan, at the Port of Shahid Rajaee. The blast was so strong that it damaged nearby buildings and cars.
Officials say that the explosion might have been caused by chemical materials in a container at the port. However, they are still investigating to find out exactly what happened.
Rescue teams rushed to the scene to help the injured people. All activities at the port have been stopped for now.
Three Chinese citizens were slightly hurt in the explosion. They received medical treatment and are now doing okay, according to China’s Consulate General in Bandar Abbas.
