πΈπ¬ Singapore’s Upcoming Elections π
Singapore is getting ready for an important event! On May 3, the country will hold its general elections. This is when people choose their leaders. It’s the first time Prime Minister Lawrence Wong will lead his party, the People’s Action Party (PAP), in an election since he became leader in 2024. Excitingly, the PAP is introducing 32 new candidates, including 13 amazing women! π
π―π΅ Japan’s Population Changes π
Japan has seen its largest population decrease ever. In 2024, the number of people living in Japan dropped by 550,000, bringing the total to around 120 million. The government is working hard to help families who want to have children but might be worried about the costs. They want to make sure everyone can fulfill their dreams of having a family. π¨βπ©βπ§βπ¦
π§πΉ Bhutan’s Green Cryptocurrency π»π
Bhutan, a small country in the Himalayas, has a cool plan! They want to use the power from their rivers (called hydropower) to create green cryptocurrencies. Cryptocurrencies are like digital money, and when they’re made using clean energy, they’re called “green.” Bhutan hopes this will boost their economy and create new jobs for young people. How awesome is that? ππ‘
π¬οΈ Strong Winds in Northern China π³
Last weekend, strong winds swept through northern China, causing some damage. In Beijing, workers were busy clearing uprooted trees and broken branches from the streets. Some winds were as strong as a hurricane! But thanks to the hard work of many people, the city is getting back to normal. πͺ
