China Helps Myanmar After Big Earthquake, Saves Lives! πŸ‡²πŸ‡²πŸ‡¨πŸ‡³

Hey there, did you hear what happened in Myanmar? There was a really big earthquake, and China is helping a lot! Let’s find out more! πŸŒπŸ’•

Last Friday, at 12:50 p.m., a huge earthquake shook central Myanmar. It was a magnitude-7.9 earthquake, which is one of the strongest they’ve had in 100 years! That’s like the ground shaking super hard.

Sadly, many people were hurt. As of Monday noon, over 2,000 people have died, nearly 4,000 were injured, and about 270 are missing. That’s a lot, and it’s very sad. 😒

But here’s the good news: China is rushing to help! Chinese rescue teams have saved six people so far. Four people were rescued on Monday morning after being trapped for almost 60 hours! Imagine being stuck that long! Two others were saved on Sunday.

China is also sending lots of supplies to help the people in Myanmar. On Monday, the first batch of aid arrived at Yangon International Airport. It had 1,200 tents, 8,000 blankets, and over 40,000 first aid kits! China has pledged to give 100 million yuan (that’s about 13.9 million US dollars) in aid. That’s a lot of money! πŸ’°

Also, Yunnan Province in southwest China, which is next to Myanmar, is sending help too. They sent supplies like face masks, protective clothing, and medicines. On Sunday, they even sent 7.3 tonnes of goods like clothes, medicines, instant noodles, tents, and other things people need.

But helping isn’t easy. There are aftershocks (that’s when the ground shakes again after the main earthquake), damaged roads, and it’s really hot there now. But everyone is working hard! Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar, Ma Jia, said they are trying their best to get aid to the people who need it.

Many Chinese rescue teams, including a 51-member team from south China’s Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and a 118-member international team, are helping out in cities like Yangon, Nay Pyi Taw, and Mandalay (which is near where the earthquake happened).

Kong Ka-ho, a rescue worker from Hong Kong, said they are ready to set off very soon because the first 72 hours after an earthquake are super important to save lives.

In total, about 400 Chinese experts, rescue workers, and medical staff are helping in Myanmar. They are heroes! πŸ¦Έβ€β™€οΈπŸ¦Έβ€β™‚οΈ

It’s really heartwarming to see countries helping each other in times of need. Let’s hope that everyone in Myanmar stays safe and that they recover soon! πŸ’–
