Chinese Rescue Team Helps Myanmar After Big Earthquake

🌏 A powerful 7.9-magnitude earthquake shook Myanmar on March 28, causing significant damage and affecting many people.

To lend a helping hand, a team of 37 Chinese medical rescuers from China’s Yunnan province flew from Kunming Changshui International Airport to Myanmar. They brought important equipment like life detectors, earthquake early warning systems, portable satellites, and drones.

The earthquake was very serious. According to government officials, at least 144 people lost their lives, and at least 732 were injured. Even in Bangkok, a city in nearby Thailand, at least 10 people died when a building collapsed.

China expressed sincere condolences to Myanmar, its friendly neighbor. The Chinese embassy and consulate in Myanmar quickly started helping local Chinese institutions, businesses, and people to make sure they were safe. So far, no Chinese citizens have been reported among the victims.

It’s heartwarming to see countries helping each other in times of need! 🀝
