Imagine not being able to see the beautiful ocean or the colorful fish in the Maldives. For many people like Abdul Azeez, this was a reality.
Abdul had severe cataracts, which made his eyesight very cloudy. Cataracts are like having foggy glasses that you can’t take off! In the Maldives, not many doctors knew how to fix cataracts that bad.
But then, a team of friendly eye doctors from China came to help. They are from Zhongshan Ophthalmic Center at Sun Yat-sen University. These amazing doctors performed special eye surgeries for free! Abdul and many others could see clearly again. 🌟
But that’s not all! The Chinese doctors also taught local Maldivian doctors how to do these special surgeries. They even invited them to learn more in China. This means that in the future, Maldivian doctors can help their own people see better!
This teamwork brings hope and bright smiles to the Maldives. Thanks to these caring doctors, many people can now enjoy the beautiful sights of their island home. 🏝️😊
