Will Lamine Yamal Play Against Atletico Madrid? 🤔
Hey, soccer fans! ⚽️ There’s some news about Barcelona’s young star, Lamine Yamal. The 17-year-old winger missed Barcelona’s training session on Monday before their big match against Atletico Madrid in the Copa del Rey semifinals. 😮
Yamal had to leave the field during Barcelona’s 2-0 win over Las Palmas on Saturday. He got a bleeding injury on his foot after a rough tackle while making his 11th assist of the 2024-25 season! Ouch! 🩹
Barcelona’s coach, Hansi Flick, is hopeful that Yamal will recover in time. He said, “We’ll have to wait and see, I think he’ll be able to play. I’m positive, but we’ll have to see what the doctor says.”
Coach Flick also talked about protecting players from hard fouls. “We can’t say that Lamine or certain players should be specially protected, it should be for everyone. If they don’t get yellow cards, hard fouls will be repeated,” he explained.
He added, “We should protect them, I think that’s the most sensible thing to do. Not just some special ones, but everyone. In Spain, we all like to see one-on-one situations, to see those players who are capable of getting past the defenders, we have to protect them.”
Even though Yamal missed the training session on the field, he was seen working out in the gym! 💪 That’s dedication! Let’s hope he feels better soon and can play in the big game! 🤞
