Hi friends! Have you heard about families moving from one country to another because of fighting? Let’s talk about what’s happening between Syria and Lebanon.
In recent days, some groups of people called Shia clans have been leaving their homes in Syria to go to Lebanon. This is because there have been clashes, which means fights, at the border between the two countries.
These clashes started in a place called Qusayr in Syria’s Homs region. There are reports that drones and heavy weapons have been used, which can be really scary for the people living there. Some soldiers and even civilians (that’s a word for regular people like you and me) have been captured and then exchanged back, kind of like trading.
One of the groups said they tried to stay inside Lebanon to avoid any trouble, but even then, their towns were attacked. The Lebanese army has sent more troops to the area to try to keep everyone safe.
Syria’s government says they are trying to stop groups that they believe are doing bad things like smuggling drugs and weapons across the border. They have made some arrests and taken away things that aren’t allowed.
Leaders from both Syria and Lebanon have talked on the phone and agreed to work together to help keep people safe and stop the fighting.
It’s important to know that when there is fighting near where people live, sometimes they have to leave their homes to stay safe. Many families, including kids like you, might have to move to new places.
Let’s hope that peace returns soon so families can feel safe again! ๐๏ธ
