Oh No! Plane Crash in Philadelphia Neighborhood Causes Fires and Injuries

Imagine you’re playing outside with your friends when suddenly, you see a small airplane flying low overhead. 😮 On Friday, a small plane crashed into a neighborhood in northeast Philadelphia, causing a big fire and injuring people.

What Happened?

The airplane, a Learjet 55, had just taken off from Northeast Philadelphia Airport. It was heading to Springfield, Missouri. Shortly after takeoff, something went wrong, and the plane came down in a busy intersection near Roosevelt Mall, a place where many people live and shop.

People on the Plane

At first, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) thought there were two people on the plane. Later, they said there were actually six people aboard. We don’t know yet if they were able to get out safely or not.

Fires and Injuries

When the plane crashed, it started fires in several homes and cars! 🔥 Emergency crews rushed to the scene to help put out the fires and assist anyone who was hurt. Some people who were on the ground were injured, but we don’t know how many yet.

Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro said, “We are offering all resources as emergency services respond to the small private plane crash in Northeast Philly.” It’s good to know that lots of people are working hard to help everyone involved. 🤝

Investigating the Crash

The FAA confirmed that the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) will investigate what caused the crash. They will look at everything carefully to find out what happened and how to prevent it from happening again.
