Hey kids! Did you know that in Gaza, a place where many people live, there’s a big job ahead? 🏗️ They have to clean up lots of rubble (that’s broken buildings and debris) after a recent conflict.
The people in charge, like Minister Ahed Bseiso, say that it might take 3 to 5 years to clear all the rubble! That’s like the time it takes to finish elementary school. But they can do it faster if they get enough help, like money and special machines.
They need special equipment to find dangerous things like leftover explosives, and to move and recycle all the debris. They’re working with groups like the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) to reopen roads and clean public places like schools and hospitals.
Can you imagine? They need to fix or build about 200,000 homes! 🏠 That’s a lot of houses. Many families are staying with relatives or need temporary homes until theirs can be fixed. They might get some money to help them out.
The United Nations says there’s over 50 million tonnes of rubble to clear. That’s super heavy! It could cost around $1.2 billion to clean it all up.
Even though it’s a big job, with everyone’s help, the people of Gaza are working hard to rebuild their homes and communities. 💪
