French military aid starts to arrive in cyclone-battered Mayotte

Massive Cyclone Hits Mayotte: French Aid Arrives to Help

A Powerful Cyclone Hits Mayotte 🌪️

A huge cyclone, called Cyclone Chido, has hit the island of Mayotte in the Indian Ocean. Mayotte is a French territory located between Madagascar and Mozambique. This storm is the strongest one to hit the island in nearly 100 years!

Winds Over 200 kph! 🌬️

The cyclone brought super strong winds of more than 200 kilometers per hour (that’s about 124 miles per hour!). These winds have caused a lot of damage to homes, trees, and buildings on the island.

French Aid is On the Way 🤝

The French government is sending help to Mayotte. Planes and ships are bringing supplies like food, water, and generators to help people who have lost their homes or are without electricity. Nicolas Daragon, France’s minister for everyday security, said that they’re working hard to support the people of Mayotte during this difficult time.

People Helping People ❤️

Emergency workers are doing their best to fix things like electricity and water supplies. Neighbors are helping each other, and shelters are being set up for people who need a place to stay.

Stay Strong, Mayotte! 💪

Even though this is a tough time, the people of Mayotte are showing courage and kindness. The rest of the world is sending thoughts and support to everyone affected by Cyclone Chido.
