On June 13, at 5 p.m., experts from the Maoming Natural Resources Bureau and the Maoming Meteorological Bureau noticed the danger. They gave a Level II warning for possible disasters like landslides. That’s serious stuff!

The local government didn’t waste any time. They called people, sent messages, and even used special maps to check for danger spots. During a late-night patrol on June 15, inspectors saw the hillside starting to move in Lian’er Village. Uh-oh!

At 4 a.m., before the sun even rose, the government told all 57 villagers from 25 families to leave their homes immediately. They moved quickly, and everyone got out safely!
