Guess what? π€ China’s top rescue teams just passed a super important UN test! π
The China Search and Rescue Team and the China International Search and Rescue Team have been re-certified by the United Nations. But what does that mean? Let’s find out! π
The United Nations has a special group called INSARAG (which stands for International Search and Rescue Advisory Group). They help make sure rescue teams around the world are ready to help when big disasters like earthquakes happen. ππ
These Chinese teams went through over 40 hours of tough earthquake rescue drills. That’s like staying up all night and all the next day! π² The tests were really hard, but they showed that the teams are super skilled and ready to help people in need. π€
China is now the first country in Asia to have two teams with this special UN certification! π That’s a big deal because it means they can help in emergencies both in China and in other countries, following the highest international standards. π
At the ceremony in Beijing, important people like Xu Jia’ai, China’s Vice Minister of Emergency Management, and Sarah Muscroft from the UN were there to congratulate the teams. π They thanked the teams for their hard work and for helping make the world a safer place. ποΈ
Sarah Muscroft said, “We really value the leadership role that China plays not just in the region but within the INSARAG network.” That means China is doing a great job helping others! π
Isn’t it amazing how people from different countries come together to help each other during tough times? Maybe one day, you could be a hero too! π€©
