First impression of Huawei's HarmonyOS PC: Good appearance not enough

Huawei’s New HarmonyOS Laptop: Looks Great, but Is It Speedy Enough?

Huawei’s New Laptop with HarmonyOS: Shiny but Is It Fast Enough? 💻✨

Hey there! Guess what? Huawei just released a brand-new laptop that uses their own operating system called HarmonyOS. Let’s see what it’s like!

Shiny and Stylish 🌟

The new laptop looks really cool! It’s super light (less than a kilogram!), has a shiny metal body, a big, bright OLED screen, and a huge touchpad. It’s called the MateBook Pro, and it costs about $1,100. That’s a lot, but it looks as fancy as some of the best laptops out there!

Turning It On 🔋

When we turned it on, we saw “HarmonyOS” pop up. That means it’s using Huawei’s own software instead of something like Windows or macOS. Pretty neat, right?

Using It 🌐

We tried opening a bunch of websites and apps. With over 10 plugins (like add-ons) in the browser, it could handle more than 20 web apps without slowing down! 👍

But Wait… 🚦

We tried watching a video on a site called Bilibili (it’s like YouTube, but for lots of anime and cool videos!). When we turned on tons of comments (called “danmakus”) that fly across the screen, the laptop started to lag and froze for a few seconds. 😕

But when we used the Bilibili app made just for HarmonyOS, the video played smoothly! That shows apps made specially for HarmonyOS work better.

Is It Fast? 🏎

We ran a test called Speedometer 3.1 to see how fast it is. It scored 7.87. What does that mean?

  • A new smartphone can score about 8.34.
  • A powerful desktop computer can score over 35.
  • Apple’s new M3 Pro computers can score around 42!

So, the new Huawei laptop isn’t the fastest when running web apps. But it’s good enough for browsing the internet, doing homework, and watching HD videos! 📚🎥

Our Thoughts 💭

The new Huawei laptop with HarmonyOS looks amazing and is fun to use. It’s great to see Huawei making their own software! While it might not be the fastest laptop out there, it’s still pretty cool.

Stay tuned for more updates as we keep testing it! 🚀
