China and Zambia Team Up at the UN to Make AI Accessible to All! 🤝🌐
Imagine a world where everyone can use and benefit from amazing technologies like Artificial Intelligence (AI)! That’s exactly what China and Zambia are working towards. On Tuesday, they hosted a special event at the United Nations Headquarters in New York City to talk about making AI fair and accessible for everyone. 🤖✨
Representatives from more than 70 countries, like France, Brazil, and Indonesia, as well as important organizations such as the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), joined the event. They all came together to discuss how to improve AI so that it helps people all over the world, especially in places where technology isn’t easily available. 🌍💡
Fu Cong, the Chinese ambassador to the UN, shared some exciting news! Since a UN resolution was adopted, China has hosted two big seminars in Beijing and Shanghai. Over 180 people from more than 40 countries attended these meetings to share ideas on how to make AI work better for everyone. 🗣️🌟
Did you know that AI is changing the way we live and work every day? From smart robots to helpful apps, AI is super cool! But here’s the tricky part: as of 2024, about 2.6 billion people still don’t have access to the internet. That’s like one out of every three people on Earth! 😮🖥️
Because of this, countries around the world are joining forces to help bridge this “digital divide.” That means they want to make sure everyone has the chance to use technology like the internet and AI. China and Zambia started a group called the “Group of Friends for International Cooperation on AI Capacity-Building” to help make this happen. 🤗👫
This group is growing and becoming a strong voice in the world of AI. They’re working hard to share knowledge and help all countries use AI in the best ways possible. Fu Cong said he looks forward to more ideas and cooperation to keep this important work going. 💪🚀
