Hey there! Did you know that many kids around the world don’t have access to the internet or computers? ๐๐ป This makes it hard for them to learn new things and connect with others. At the Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference 2025, leaders from different countries came together to talk about how to fix this problem, called the digital divide.
What is the digital divide?
The digital divide is the gap between people who have access to modern technology and those who don’t. Imagine some kids using tablets and computers at school while others have never seen a computer before! ๐ฎ
Working Together to Help Everyone
Former Finnish Prime Minister Esko Aho spoke about how when governments and companies team up, they can make amazing things happenโlike going to the moon! ๐ He believes that by working together, we can help everyone get access to technology.
Cambodiaโs Plan to Connect More People
Svay Nakry from Cambodia shared her country’s plan to make the internet more affordable and available. They are helping small businesses get online and supporting women who run businesses. How cool is that? ๐ฉ๐ผ๐จ๐ผ
Learning About Technology Early
Sajjad Ahadzadeh from Iran talked about teaching kids coding and AI (that’s Artificial Intelligence!) from a young age. This way, everyone can understand and use new technologies. Think about learning how to code in school! ๐ฅ๏ธ๐ฉโ๐ป
Why It Matters
All the leaders agreed that no single country can solve this problem alone. By sharing ideas and working together, they hope to make sure that all kidsโjust like youโcan have the chance to use technology to learn and play. ๐๐ค
What Can You Do?
You can help by learning about technology and sharing your knowledge with others. Maybe start a coding club at your school or help someone understand how to use a computer. Every little bit counts! ๐ค
