China’s Highest Wind Farm Lights Up: Mountain Winds Power Homes!

Guess what? China just switched on its highest wind farm ever! 🏔️🌬️ It’s in the mountains of Xinjiang, a place way up high between 2,800 and 3,300 meters above sea level. That’s like stacking up over 8 Eiffel Towers!

Wind Turbines in the Sky: This cool wind farm has 38 giant turbines catching the strong mountain winds. Together, they can make 540 million kilowatt-hours of electricity every year. That’s enough power for 300,000 homes! 🏡🏡🏡

Helping the Earth: By using wind instead of coal, they’re saving around 164,800 tons of coal each year. That means less pollution and happier animals and plants. 🌍💚 They also avoid putting 450,000 tons of carbon dioxide into the air. That’s a big help against climate change!

Tricky Construction: Building up in the mountains wasn’t easy. The roads are so steep and narrow that cranes couldn’t move around. So, workers had to take the cranes apart and move them piece by piece on trucks! 🚚 It took about four days just to move a crane each time.

Caring for Wildlife: The area is home to lots of wild animals. To keep them safe, the team chose special spots for the turbines away from animal paths. They made sure the animals can live their normal lives. 🦌🦅

A Bright, Green Future: This wind farm joins solar and hydropower projects in the area. Now, Xinjiang’s energy is 100% green! That’s solar power (58%), hydropower (35%), and wind power (7%). Isn’t that awesome? ☀️💦🌬️

Renewable energy like wind power helps keep our planet healthy. Maybe one day, you’ll be part of making new energy solutions too! 💡
