Hey there, did you have trouble checking your Facebook or Instagram today? 🤔 You’re not alone!
On Wednesday, many people around the world couldn’t use some of their favorite apps like Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, WhatsApp, and even Threads! 😮 These apps are all owned by a big company called Meta.
Meta said there was a “technical issue” causing problems. That means something went wrong with their technology, kind of like when your game glitches and freezes! 🎮🚫 They posted on X (which is the new name for Twitter) saying, “We’re aware that a technical issue is impacting some users’ ability to access our apps. We’re working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible and apologize for any inconvenience.”
WhatsApp also said they were having issues but they were starting to fix them. By around 10:49 a.m. Pacific Time, they said things were getting back to normal for most people. Phew! 😅
A website called Downdetector, which tracks when apps and websites go down, showed that the outage started around 10 a.m. Wednesday. At its peak, over 97,000 people reported problems with Facebook! 📈 That’s a lot of people.
No one knows exactly why the apps went down yet, but Meta is working hard to fix everything. So if you couldn’t send that funny meme or check your friend’s new post, don’t worry, things should be back to normal soon! 👍
Did you notice the outage? What did you do instead? Maybe it was a good time to play outside or read a book! 📚🌳
