Recently, Chinese authorities decided that these apps need to be fair to the delivery workers. They told the app companies to check their algorithms (that’s like the computer instructions) to make sure they’re not making life too tough for the delivery folks.
You see, some apps give workers super tight deadlines. That means they have to rush around the city to deliver things on time, which can lead to more accidents and unsafe situations. 😟
The authorities also said that if there are delays because of things like bad weather or traffic jams (stuff the workers can’t control), the workers shouldn’t get in trouble. 🌧️🚦
But it’s not just about delivery apps! This effort also includes video and shopping platforms. They want to stop things like showing people only the same kind of videos (called an “information cocoon”) or charging different people different prices for the same item. That’s not fair, right?
