Two Chinese teams sweep 1-2 in adult size at Robo Cup Humanoid League

Chinese Teams Dominate RoboCup 2023 Humanoid Robot Soccer! 🤖⚽️

Hey there, tech enthusiasts! 🤖🌟

Did you hear the awesome news from Brazil? Two teams from the Chinese mainland have just rocked the world of robot soccer at RoboCup 2023! 🇧🇷⚽️

Tsinghua University’s Hephaestus team and China Agricultural University’s Mountain & Sea team battled it out in an epic final showdown in the Adult Size category of the Humanoid League. In the end, Tsinghua’s robots took the gold with a 5-3 victory! 🥇🥈

But wait, what is RoboCup, you ask? It’s an international robotics competition where teams from all over the world build robots to play soccer, rescue missions, and more! It’s like the World Cup, but for robots! 🤖🏆

The Tsinghua team made history by becoming the first team from the Chinese mainland to win this title in the 28-year history of the tournament. And they didn’t just win—they dominated! They had amazing scores like 16-0, 9-0, and 12-0 against other teams, including one from the United States! 🇺🇸

Not only that, but other teams from the Chinese mainland did great too! Tsinghua’s TH-MOS team came in second in the Kid Size category. 🎉

Here’s something really cool: Many teams from around the world, including those from Germany and the U.S., used humanoid robots made in China, like the T1 and K1 models. This shows how China’s robotics technology is becoming super important globally! 🌍

The German team, Boosted HTWK, who won the Kid Size category, also used the K1 robots. Isn’t that awesome? 🇩🇪🤖

Yang Shaoshuai, the leader of the Mountain & Sea team, said, “Our success came from solid preparation in visual positioning, navigation, and decision-making. But Tsinghua had an even more advanced decision-making algorithm—they deserve the win!” 👏

Cheng Hao, the founder of Booster Robotics, which supplied the robots for the competition, said, “For the first time, a Chinese hardware platform became the go-to equipment for a top-tier global competition. China’s robots have now become a core force on the world’s competitive stage.” 🌟

Isn’t it incredible to see how robots are changing the world? Maybe one day, you’ll build a robot that competes in RoboCup too! Keep dreaming big! 🚀
