China’s young soccer team faced a tough match against South Korea in the opening game of the East Asian Cup on Monday. The game ended with South Korea winning 3-0.
From the very start, South Korea showed their skills, keeping the ball and making quick passes. In the 8th minute, Lee Dong-gyeong scored a powerful goal from outside the penalty box! 🥅
Then, in the 21st minute, Joo Min-kyu headed in another goal, making it 2-0 by halftime.
After the break, China tried hard to fight back. But in the 57th minute, Kim Ju-sung scored again for South Korea after a corner kick, securing their victory at 3-0.
China’s team was led by caretaker coach Dejan Djurdjevic and included several young players, some born in 2006! That’s the same age as many of you!
Coach Djurdjevic said after the game that it was challenging to play against such a strong team. He appreciated his players’ efforts and is looking forward to the next matches.
China will play against Japan next on Saturday. Let’s cheer them on!
