Chinese Tennis Star Zheng Qinwen Upset in Wimbledon First Round; Wang Xinyu Advances

Hey tennis fans! 🎾

There were big surprises at Wimbledon this week! China’s rising tennis star, Zheng Qinwen, faced a tough match and was knocked out in the first round. She played against Katerina Siniakova from the Czech Republic. After a close game lasting over two hours, Zheng lost with scores of 7-5, 4-6, 6-1. She said afterward, “I should have focused more during my service games. It’s a pity, but I’ll learn from this.”

But there’s good news too! Another Chinese player, Wang Xinyu, had a great match. She won against Karolina Muchova, also from the Czech Republic, with scores of 7-5, 6-2. Wang is moving on to the second round of Wimbledon! 🎉

Wang has been playing really well lately. She did an amazing job at a recent tournament in Berlin, where she beat some very strong players and reached the final! Everyone is excited to see how far she can go at Wimbledon. Next, she’ll play against Zeynep Sonmez from Türkiye. Let’s cheer her on! 🙌

Tennis can be full of ups and downs, but it’s inspiring to see these athletes giving their all. Maybe one day, you’ll be on the tennis court too! Keep practicing and never give up! 💪
