The NBA Rising Stars Invitational just kicked off at the Kallang Tennis Centre. Teams from 11 countries and regions across the Asia-Pacific region are competing. And yes, that includes the super-talented boys and girls squads from Tsinghua High School! ๐
The opening ceremony was a blast! Miami Heat’s mascot “Burnie” pumped up the crowd, and the Los Angeles Lakers cheerleaders dazzled everyone with their moves! Even NBA legend Yao Ming was there, along with WNBA champion Lauren Jackson and players from the Phoenix Suns! ๐ฎ
Tsinghua Girls Team Rocks the Court! ๐๐ช
The girls team faced off against Thailand’s Watnoinoppakhun School. It wasn’t easy at firstโthey were trailing in the beginning. But center Zhuang Qiqi and guard Li Yixuan led an awesome comeback! Together, they powered the team to a 74-60 victory! ๐ Both Li Yixuan and Xu Anqi scored 19 points each! Way to go! ๐
Tsinghua Boys Team Scores Big! ๐๐ฅ
The boys team played against Indonesia’s Jubilee School and took the lead early! They ended the first quarter ahead with a 22-9 score. They kept up the great work and won the game 78-53! ๐คฉ Forward Hou Guancheng scored a whopping 22 points, and center Li Junxian had a double-double with 13 points and 15 rebounds! That’s amazing! ๐
Learning and Growing ๐ฑ
Assistant coach Wang Zeqi said that playing in this tournament helps the players learn from different playing styles. It’s a great way for them to improve and adapt quickly! ๐

Next up, the boys team will play against Mongolia’s Orkhon Aimag First Senior High School, and the girls team will face Indonesia’s SMAR PENABUR Cirebon. Let’s cheer them on! ๐
