Hey basketball fans! Have you heard the exciting news? China’s women’s basketball team just had a huge win against Japan! They won with a score of 93-61. That’s a big difference!
The game was really thrilling. In the first quarter, China took the lead with a score of 26-23. They kept up the great work, and by halftime, they were ahead 51-31. That’s 20 points ahead!
In the second half, players like Zhang Ru, Han Xu, and Yang Shuyu scored lots of points. They helped push China’s lead to 30 points! Japan tried to catch up with an 8-0 run (that’s when they score 8 points in a row), but China stayed strong and won the game.
One of the star players was guard Wang Siyu, who scored 17 points! Center Zhang Ziyu also did great with 16 points and 4 rebounds (that’s when you grab the ball after a missed shot). Plus, Zhai Ruoyun added 11 points to the team’s score.
After the game, China’s head coach, Gong Luming, said, “We want to take this chance to train the team and adapt to the fast transition pace, so that we can go all out for the Asia Cup.” He explained that the team has players of different ages, and they are working hard to play well together.
Next, China will play against Australia in Haikou, Hainan Province, on July 6. Then they’ll have a rematch in Changsha on July 8. Both teams are getting ready for the FIBA Women’s Asia Cup.
