FIFA Club World Cup Kicks Off with Exciting 0-0 Draw: Inter Miami vs Al Ahly
Hey soccer fans! β½ The FIFA Club World Cup just started, and the opening match was a real nail-biter! On Saturday, Inter Miami and Al Ahly played an exciting game that ended in a 0-0 draw at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida.
Al Ahly’s Strong Start
Al Ahly, a team from Egypt with lots of experience in this tournament, came out strong. In the seventh minute, their player Emam Ashour took a close shot, but Inter Miami’s goalkeeper, Oscar Ustari, blocked it with his leg! π§€
Then, in the 29th minute, Wessam Abou Ali seemed to score for Al Ahly. But wait! The goal was canceled because he was offside when he got the ball. π© (Offside means a player is too close to the opponent’s goal when the ball is passed to them.)
Just three minutes later, Achraf Dari headed the ball toward the goal, but Ustari saved it again! And right before halftime, Al Ahly even got a penalty kick. Trezeguet tried twice, but Ustari was unstoppable! π
Inter Miami Fights Back
Inter Miami, the home team, had their first big chance in the 44th minute. The legendary Lionel Messi π shot from outside the box, but the ball hit the crossbar! So close!
In the late moments of the game, Messi crossed the ball into the box. Fafa Picault jumped and headed it, but Al Ahly’s goalkeeper, Mohamed El Shenawy, made a great save. π§±
What’s Next?
Even though the game ended without any goals, it was full of excitement! Inter Miami hadn’t kept a clean sheet (that’s when the other team doesn’t score) since April 19. They’ll play against Porto on Thursday, while Al Ahly will face Palmeiras. But first, Porto and Palmeiras will play each other on Sunday.
Stay tuned for more thrilling matches in the FIFA Club World Cup! ππ
