What an exciting day at the Queen’s Club in London! 🎾
Amanda Anisimova, an 8th-seeded player from the USA, pulled off a big surprise by defeating the top seed Zheng Qinwen from China in a thrilling match! The scores were 6-2, 4-6, 6-4.
Anisimova’s powerful shots caught Zheng off guard in the first set. But Zheng didn’t give up! She fought back in the second set, winning it 6-4.
In the final set, both players gave it their all. Anisimova managed to edge ahead and won the set 6-4, securing her place in the final! 🏆
But that’s not all! In the other semifinal, Tatjana Maria from Germany, who is 37 years old, beat the second seed Madison Keys from the USA with scores of 6-3, 7-6(3). She became the oldest player to reach a WTA Tour final since Serena Williams in 2020! 😲
Now, Anisimova will face Maria in the final on Sunday. Who do you think will win? 🤔
Maria said after her match, “You always have to keep going. You never can stop. It doesn’t matter how it goes. I love to play tennis, I love this sport, and we live for these special moments.”
We can’t wait to see the final match! Stay tuned! 🎉
