Shocking Upset at Queen’s Club! 🎾
Hey tennis fans! Guess what happened at the new Queen’s Club tournament in London? Two-time Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova lost in the first round! 😱
Kvitova, who won Wimbledon in 2011 and 2014, was playing against Brazil’s Beatriz Haddad Maia. The match started great for Kvitova. She won the first set 6-2! 🏆
But Haddad Maia didn’t give up. She fought back and won the next two sets 6-4, 6-4. Talk about an amazing comeback! 💪
“Playing against Petra is always tough. She’s amazing on grass,” said Haddad Maia. “I’m happy I could win today.” 😊
Did you know? This is the first top-level women’s event at Queen’s Club in over 50 years! That’s more than half a century! 😮
In other matches, German player Tatjana Maria won her game, and Anastasia Zakharova from Russia beat last year’s Wimbledon semi-finalist Donna Vekic. 🎉
Coming up next, Britain’s own Emma Raducanu will play her first match on Tuesday. Let’s cheer her on! 🇬🇧
Tennis is full of surprises, and this tournament is just getting started. Stay tuned for more exciting updates! 🎾✨
