Hey there, sports fans! Have you heard the exciting news? Beatrice Chebet from Kenya just ran the second fastest women’s 5,000-meter race ever! 🎉
At the Diamond League meet in Rome on Friday, Beatrice zoomed around the track, finishing the race in an incredible 14 minutes and 3.69 seconds! ⏱️ That’s super fast!
She was so close to breaking the world record of 14 minutes and 0.21 seconds, which was set by Gudaf Tsegay from Ethiopia two years ago. Can you imagine running that fast? 😲
Before this race, Beatrice’s best time was 14 minutes and 5.92 seconds, which she ran when Gudaf set the world record. Beatrice is also the world record holder in the 10,000-meter race. She’s really amazing! 🥇
But that’s not all the excitement from the Diamond League! American sprinter Trayvon Bromell won the men’s 100-meter race in just 9.84 seconds. That’s the fastest time this year! 🏃♂️💨
