Mark Williams Makes Epic Comeback to Reach Snooker Final! 🎱
Hey there, snooker fans! Have you heard the exciting news? Mark Williams, a 50-year-old snooker superstar from Wales, has just made an amazing comeback to reach the World Snooker Championship final!
In an intense match on Saturday, Williams faced off against Judd Trump from England in Sheffield, England. At first, things didn’t look great for Williams—he was trailing 7-3 early on. But he didn’t give up! He fought back and closed the gap to 10-9.
With some incredible plays called “breaks” (that’s when a player scores points in one turn without missing), Williams scored 73, 84, and 62 points in different frames (that’s what we call each round in snooker). He took the lead 13-11 going into the evening session.
The excitement didn’t stop there! Williams extended his lead to 15-11, but Trump wasn’t done yet. Trump scored an amazing 106 points in one break, making it his 106th century of the season! (A “century” is when a player scores 100 points or more in one turn—pretty impressive!)
Williams then scored a century himself, bringing him just one frame away from victory. Although Trump tried to catch up, Williams held his nerve. In the final frame, Williams made a fantastic clearance of 123 points to win the match 17-14!
After the match, Williams said, “I can’t believe I’m in another final—I don’t know how I’m doing it, to be honest.”
Now, Williams is the oldest World Championship finalist ever! He’ll face China’s Zhao Xintong, who is 28 years old, in the final at the Crucible Theatre on Sunday. It’s going to be an exciting match!
Who do you think will win? Let us know! 🎱🏆
